Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées is the world oldest enginering school also known as Ecole Nationale des Ponts ParisTech – a “Grande École” or Ivy-League, and one of France’s most illustrious engineering schools. Ecole des Ponts focuses on research in the field of science, engineering and technology and with ParisTech is an alliance of twelve of the foremost French institutes of education and research. Covering nearly the whole spectrum of science and engineering, it forms an entity of comparable status to the most famous universities of technology around the world.

The iGNITE Program and multiple other strategic efforts were created and launched at Ecole des Ponts / Paris Tech as a research base in conjunction with 10 other international universities, government research labs, corporations and military organizations ultimately resulting in The iGNITE Program’s international expansion. The success of multiple Ecole des Ponts / Paris Tech efforts stem from the work of The iGNITE Program running at ENPC Paris Tech in 2007 and from multiple other organizations as early as 2005.
